Kailyn Davis has shown remarkable growth within our ministry.

Although she’s been with us for less than six months, her health care journey spans over five years, driven by her commitment to patient care and advocacy.

Kailyn’s passion for patient care is deeply personal, stemming from her own experience as a young patient who received care through Mercy Health.

“At 15 years old, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a rare type of cancer in the lymphatic system,” Kailyn recalls. “The experiences and difficulties that I went through as a young patient are what made me strive to become the best role model and have a good impact on the children that I would come in contact with on a daily basis.”

Her journey also inspired Kailyn to pursue further education and specialize in pediatric care, aiming to help children overcome their fears of health care. Now, Kailyn serves as a lab client services associate at Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center in our Toledo market.

“What I enjoy most about what I do is ensuring the health and safety of patients while they are in need of any kind of medical help and the interactions and relationships that are built between associates, patients and their families,” she explains.

Kailyn is dedicated to her professional development and is currently finishing courses to receive her certified medical assistant certificate, utilizing our ministry’s education benefits program.

At Mercy Health, we are proud to give all our team members access to education programs that are designed to empower career growth.

We offer up to 100 percent tuition-free education for priority clinical programs to help them pursue their health care callings and career. Kailyn has particularly benefited from advisor support and the tools and resources provided throughout her course.

“My favorite part of the program is that although it has deadlines and due dates, you can work at your own pace when it comes to advancing further or getting ahead,” she adds.

Kailyn hopes her journey serves as an inspiration to others.

“I would like to share a very heartfelt and wholesome thank you to the ministry for providing these growth and development opportunities,” she says. “And for anyone that may be on the fence to start growing their career, my advice is to take the leap and follow your dreams. If you don’t start somehow or somewhere, you’ll never start, but if you do, you can always fulfill your dreams and wishes and then decide it is not for you. Until then, you will never know.”
