Jeff Craig (pictured above, top row and second from the right) says that he felt God was calling him to do more with his life.

“I decided to further my education so that I could have the experience and knowledge to know how to take care of people,” he explains.

After starting out with our environmental services team, Jeff is now a certified medical assistant. He recently received his certification from MedCerts for free, using our ministry’s education benefits.

Jeff says that while he felt there was more opportunity for his classes to be more integrated between online and in person, he had a “great experience.”

The meat and potatoes of Jeff’s education, he clarifies, was the experience he gained working as a non-certified medical assistant, working day to day on a team where he felt supported.

“Everyone has been so encouraging of my education, and that has allowed me to flourish,” he says. “My manager, Carol Bunger, has always been so supportive.

Jeff continues, “I also really love the interaction with my patients. I feel like I give them a sense of happiness and hope when I see them.”

When asked what advice he would give those who want to continue their education, Jeff says, “just rip the bandage off and jump right in. Take that leap of faith and do more for yourselves and your patients. I did it working full time, juggling family time with school and I was able to get it done. The water may be a little cold at first, but it’ll warm up quick and you’ll be so glad you decided to do something more for yourself!”

Jeff adds that he feels empowered to continue to advance in his educational pursuits here within the ministry.

“Thanks to the education I’ve received, my wife, my team members and I feel like I’m on the right path in life.”
