Terrin McCullough, an associate recruiter for nursing support in our Springfield and Lima markets, has always had a passion for helping people.

“But it wasn’t until my junior year of undergrad, when I took my first human resources class, did I think I could apply it to my career,” Terrin shares. “I love it – I get to help people navigate and choose jobs that can allow them to grow in their health care career. It’s very rewarding.”

This passion is why Terrin is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Northern Kentucky University, with a focus in human resources. She wants to continue finding ways to help our team members thrive, both in their professional and personal lives.

“I can count on two hands how many people have called me crying, thanking me for helping them change their lives,” Terrin reveals. “Human resources really is about putting people first and helping them improve their lives as well as careers. That’s where I want to be, and I want the experience and degree to help me get there.”

Terrin is able to complete her MBA program debt-free through our ministry’s education benefits program, which offers 100 percent tuition-free education for priority clinical programs, as well as tuition assistance for over 100 additional in-network education programs and tuition reimbursement for most other programs and schools.

In Terrin’s case, she uses tuition reimbursement which covers up to $10,000 per year in reimbursement, for master’s degrees.

“Working for a place that not only supports people getting their education, but then is also paying for it is amazing,” Terrin says. “I don’t know if I would have been able to go back to school without this program.”

Through these benefits, powered by our benefits partner Guild Education, Terrin has been able to easily focus on completing her degree, knowing that our ministry has her covered.

“Guild has been very nice to me – if I have any questions, there’s always someone online to help me,” she explains. “It’s been nice to have those resources, just always having that someone there for you.”

When she graduates in May of 2023, Terrin wants to use her degree to leverage her leadership career in human resources and become better positioned to help others find their calling.

“I would definitely want to stay in recruitment for a while, just so I can continue to build up my knowledge and my skills – and continue helping people,” she shares. “When I do eventually want to go into a leadership position, I’ll feel confident knowing I have the experience and education to be the best candidate for the role.”
