For the second year, the Mercy Health Foundation has been designated as a 2017 High Performer by the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP).  The Mercy Health Foundation is among 45 other High Performer organizations from the United States and Canada ranking in the top 75th percentile based on net production returns for 2016 results.  More than 200 participating organizations were considered for High Performer status.

“This is a great honor,” said Michael Bezney, Chair of the Mercy Health Foundation Board of Trustees.  “More important, it is a testament to the passionate work of our volunteers, staff and donors whose gifts help Mercy Health have a profound local impact in the communities we serve.”

In its Report on Giving survey, AHP analyzes institutions to determine key factors that lead to higher performance among participants.  In the United States, net fundraising revenue for high performers is almost seven times higher than for all institutions reporting.

“Giving is at the heart of our Mission at Mercy Health,” said John Starcher, president and CEO of Mercy Health. “Our philanthropy work creates an important connection with donors, volunteers, patients and their families, who know the impact of faith-based care. Ultimately, our patients and the communities we serve benefit most from the outstanding performance of the Mercy Health Foundation.”

The Mercy Health Foundation and has affiliate foundations in 10 communities across Ohio and Kentucky. Each partners with donors to advance the Mission of Mercy Health by making lives better and communities stronger, with a special emphasis on those who are poor or under-served. The Mercy Health Foundation steps in with donor support to fill the gaps, bringing life-affirming health care, at the highest possible level, to all people.
